I am here to know about you. You are the expert of your experience and pain. If you are looking for someone who will make you feel better, I may not be the right choice of intervention. As a behavioral analyst, I am here to help you see, be open, be present and be aware of your behavior and how that is working for you. I am here to help you live your life that is aligned with your values. I use behavioral analytic principals in behavioral transformation by utilizing Acceptance and Commitment Training (ACT) and Focused Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (FACT). My methods are usually brief, no more than 30-40 minutes per session. My role is to help you improve your health and well-being and overcome obstacles that are getting in the way of life. As a team, between us, we work together to do something practical, like develop a new behavioral skill or alternative strategy that you can take away. Sometimes just this one session is enough for people; it gets them moving in the right direction, and that’s all they need. And sometimes people like to come back a few times, to go a bit further with the work.
At EJK Behavioral Consulting, with over 27 years of experience in the field of education and behavior, I believe that effective interventions and treatments can be best accomplished when a proper functional assessment has been conducted. We must first know why we do what we do. I only apply evidence-based treatments that are proven to work.
The behavioral assessments I conduct are:
Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA)
Functional Analysis (FA)
Verbal Behavior Milestones and Program Placement (VB-MAPP)
Behavioral Intervention Consultation for mild to severe behavioral concerns.
School Consultation for families for Individualized Education Plan (IEP) representation, 504 Plan or Behavioral Intervention Plan (BIP) consultation.
Parent Training and Support in applying behavioral analytic strategies to see the functional purpose of why we do what we do so parents can be awakened to best support their child.
Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Training for individuals to gain better access and improve relationships, especially for those on the Autism Spectrum and with Asperger's Syndrome.
Behavioral Skills Training (BST) for very challenging behaviors, such as aggression and self-injurious behaviors (SIB), such as Delay Tolerance training, Habit Reversal, Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) and Functional Communication Training (FCT).
Self Injurious Behavior (SIB)
Aggression (mild to severe)
Video Game Addiction (VGA)
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder related behaviors (OCD)
Body-Focused Repetitive Behavior (BFRB)
Oppositional Defiance Disorder (ODD)
Finally, there is a real solution for a meaningful life.
